Meet Some Of Our Eminent Scholars!

设立“杰出学者”称号是为了表彰对大学有不同寻常的贡献和服务的教员. 只有在bet8体育娱乐入口(Old Dominion University)担任全职教授至少三年的教员才有资格获得这一荣誉. 只有当杰出学者身份被视为初始任命过程的一部分时,才可能免除这一要求. 部分正教授可被指定为杰出学者.

指定教员将永久持有该头衔, 须在大学刊物上刊登,并在大学任职期间,每年可获津贴. 所有杰出学者的名字都将出现在大学显眼的牌匾上.

Eligibility

Nominees shall have met the following criteria:

  • 在bet8体育娱乐入口担任全职教授至少三个学年.
  • 在创造性艺术方面的学术出版记录或地位,将在被提名人的学科中明确建立了作为学者的全国声誉.

  • 在获得外部研究资助方面取得实质性成功(如适用).

提名杰出学者的所有教员都需要一封由被提名者所在学科的终身教员提交给被提名者所在系/学院主席和院长的信. 提名必须是一封强调申请人资格的书面信件,并提交给系/学院主席和院长 no later than September 15.

11/1 Formation of Eminent Scholars Committee.
11/15 系/学院主席对所有系/学院终身教职人员提名进行无记名投票.
12/1 系/校主席完成独立评估并提交, the department/school review letter and vote, and credentials to the dean.
1/15 院长评估证书,并通过教务长办公室向大学杰出学者委员会提交独立评估和教员证书和审查信. 这些材料必须以电子方式提交给教务长办公室.
2/1 教务长和负责学术事务的副校长向杰出学者委员会提供电子申请包.
3/1 Eminent Scholars Committee, by affirmative vote of at least five members, 向教务长和负责学术事务的副校长提交建议, who will make final designation.
4/15 教务长和负责学术事务的副校长通知教职员工被指定为杰出学者的决定.

Award & Presentation

获奖者将在一年一度的学院和行政部门颁奖晚宴上获得证书. 此外,他们的名字将被添加到大学显眼的大牌匾上. In addition, 只要他们仍然是ODU的教员,获奖者将获得年薪补助. 接受者不需要(或被邀请)做陈述.
